A lot of people ask us how or where did the idea for Text2day come from, so here’s a brief history.

Having been involved for many years in Youth work we found that Saturday nights were a particularly vulnerable time for young people as they were faced with various lifestyle choices. On Saturday nights we would try to contact various young people we knew were struggling with their choices but found that they wouldn’t answer their mobile phones as they were not in a place (physically or spiritually) where they wanted to talk to us.

We found however they did read their text messages, and sometimes this was enough to help them. While texting worked, it relied on us to be available on Saturdays which we couldn’t always be. After much praying, thinking and talking, the idea of Text2day started to take shape. It took nearly two years to make this vision real and it has been an amazing journey.
